Beijing Five Petal Square is a 3.2-hectare ‘urban’ park that covers and entire city block in the heart of Beijing. Designed to be a modern park in a modern city, Beijing Five Petal Square connects to the various layers of the city: to the commercial and residential, to the transport, the cultural and the natural.

By situating retail, exhibition space, and car parking below the park - and office space above ground, AJ+C brings together modern Chinese culture with a contemporary interpretation of traditional Chinese landscape and gardens.

The design for this park will continue the tradition of nature as a powerful and inspirational source. This project will offer something not commonly available elsewhere in Beijing - a destination for the whole city, from those living and working in the vicinity, to visitors from outer rim. Just like nature, it will offer an extraordinary variety of possibilities 24 hours a day.
